DISINTERGRATION for async International short film competition

DISINTERGRATION for async International short film competition

Masumi and Guy Wigmore made a film "DISINTERGRATION" for the async Short Film Competition, in which Ryuichi Sakamoto asked filmmakers to create a movie around music from his album async.
async is Ryuichi Sakamoto’s first studio album in 8 years. It is an album conceived as a soundtrack to an imaginary film by Soviet filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. Sakamoto has expressed a desire to see how the music could be used in a film, and this is where the short film competition comes in. Although they didn't win the competition, the pair was happy with the outcome of this project. Compositions and sound design mix well with the soundtrack and it opened up possibilities for their approach towards collaboration between dance and moving image.
