Biography
I am a Japanese movement artist and choreographer based in London. Through my practice, I research our connectivity with nature and spirits, and the relationship between mind and body. I am particularly fascinated by ancestral knowledge stored in the body and by how memory, ritual, and lived experience shape movement.
My work is deeply influenced by Japanese ways of being and traditional performance practices such as Noh theatre and Butoh. Rooted in a reverence for nature and the unseen, my artistic research explores themes of fragility, transformation, and identity. Drawing from personal experiences of motherhood, grief, and cultural heritage, I create work that invites introspection and embodied self-discovery.
My practice remains intentionally flexible, moving across theatre, live performance, film, photography, and collaborative projects. By not being rigid about form, I allow my work to remain playful, responsive, and authentic to my evolving interests, while maintaining a strong focus on embodied experience and ritual-based movement practice.
