Forest Fringe delivered a major 4-week residency project in collaboration with 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan. As part of the residency, performance artist Scottee invited Masumi to collaborate on his new, site-specific, interactive performance piece.
Through this residency project, Scottee has confronted his western perceptions of gender inequality and created the work using his agency as the revered, (perceived) cis-white-male to create a platform for Japanese women's thoughts to be heard - it falls on deaf ears.

Masumi was also asked to prepare a solo performance for its opening party.
This work was inspired by Scottee's new work and his approach towards Japanese feminism.
Voices selling beauty products on shopping channels linger and women chanting face lifting exercise instructions echo. Do we know when to stop? Masumi made our obsession for beauty into a comical dance piece.
